Downloading & Running Libris DESIGN
This procedure assumes that you are starting from within the LIBRIS DESIGN website located
at http://librisdesign.org/index.html
- Open your web browser and go to the link listed above.
- Click on the "Downloadable Files" button which will take you to the "Downloadable file screen.
- Click on the "Download LIBRIS DESIGN" button. You will 1st be prompted to either OPEN or SAVE
the file, select 'Save...' and click OK.
- Next you are prompted for a location to save the downloaded file. Place it in a temporary
directory such as C:\TEMP. NOTE: It is advisable at this time NOT to change the filename for the download.
- Once the file has completed downloading, use the Windows Explorer to view this directory to
verify that the download was successful. The downloaded file should be between 4 and 5 MB in size.
- To extract the LIBRIS DESIGN files, simply double-click the downloaded file. It will bring up
the standard WinZip dialog box. It is set to extract the files to C:\LIBRIS, but if desired, you
may change that designation on the screen to a (target) directory of your choice.
- Once your directory name is set, click the UNZIP button. It will extract the files to the
directory specified. The dialog box will remain open; check the location to view the extracted
files. When you have concluded that the extract was successful, click the CLOSE button on the
WinZip dialog box to close the program.
- To begin working with LIBRIS DESIGN, open the target folder used in the procedure above and
double click the LIBRIS_DESIGN.mdb file. Assuming you have a successfully installed version of
Office '97 or Office 2000, the program will begin at the "LIBRIS DESIGN Login Screen."
OFFICE 2000, XP & 2003 Users: The file you are getting off the web is an Office97 version file. Upon
opening Access2000, you will be prompted to either CONVERT or OPEN as an Access97 Database;
select Open as Access97. Although it will convert, you will no longer be able to share your
file with users running Access97.
